Some paintings, like this one, are purchased in the first half hour of an exhibition. This causes one to sit back and ask why that one? There is no recipe for these things, however, and you never quite know what makes one painting more successful than another. It’s just a combination of everything coming together at the right time in the right place and creating that emotional response from somebody. Almost everyone who has seen this painting has liked it.
