The Kgalagadi is an extreme environment that projects a power and unique beauty all of its own. Scattered shrubs of grey camel-thorn and the hardy twisted branches of the shepherd-tree characterise the landscape. The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park links two great countries, South Africa and Botswana, allowing free movement of animals and among the most charismatic of them is the Kgalagadi lion. To see two big Kgalagadi lions walking head-on, accompanied by some tough looking lionesses lays down the rule of right-of-way, beyond question.
