Any large animal herd is just a brilliant thing to see and everyone is impressed. So a big herd of zebra altogether in one place on a vast open plein is quite a spectacle. You have to be inspired by that. Zebras are also very energised animals so you always get a lot of interaction going on – they are constantly biting or kicking one another. Even in this little group, you’ve got some great interactions going on that are important to include in a painting.
