The neighbourhood watch theme is one I’ve used for a number of different paintings. An older female with a younger female, perhaps her daughter and the dominant male of the pride. The dynamics of three powerful mature lions, perched on high, surveying their territory is dramatic. They are obviously looking at something with great interest. They are not relaxed, they’ve targeted something, maybe a herd of buffalo moving on the left. I added the little cloud burst in the background to build on this atmosphere of drama.
