Strange Encounter

This painting is not a fairytale. Bizarre situations happen in nature all the time, but this is a commentary on how some of our conservation efforts are increasingly encouraging even more unusual occurrences. Breeding lions on a farm for instance enables unnatural interactions between wild and domestic animals. Here, a domesticated goose is seen with a wild lion and it prompts the question – what are they doing together?

Description: Lion and Embden Goose.
Medium: Oil on Canvas.
Dimensions: 145cm x 72cm
