It’s a bit of stalemate, stand off situation here. This young male is fully exposed and has lost any opportunity to do any serious shopping. He’s not going to get anywhere near those seriously fast zebra who are totally aware of his presence. It’s typical of a lion in this scenario to just pretend he’s not really interested anyway.
